Signed & Numbered Screenprint - "Por Vida"
I used to run a weedeater in the Lubbock Cemetery. After trimming around Buddy Holly's grave up near the front, knocking loose a few guitar picks left there by bands touring through town, I'd work slowly back to the older sections; past the section set aside for young children, past the more recent headstones, to the hand carved marble affairs that first filled the graveyard. I thought a lot about death, and art; and how weird it is that Christians use an instrument of execution as a symbol of hope; and how life only comes out of pain, and how people used to put a lot more work into making headstones. This image probably has something to do with all of that.
Limited edition, only 55 made. Signed & numbered by the artist. Printed on acid free paper; shipped with an acid free mat and foamcore backing.
